Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received a joint delegation from the Uptime Institute, which specialises in the assessment and accreditation of data centres, and Gulf Business Machines (GBM Bahrain).
Police Chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan and assistant under-secretary for planning and organisation Shaikha Mishaal bint Khalifa Al Khalifa attended the meeting.
The minister praised the Data and Integrated Solutions Centre, affiliated with the Information Technology and Electronic Systems Directorate at the office of the assistant under-secretary, for obtaining Tier III Certification from the Uptime Institute.
He noted that this international classification reflects the commitment to keeping pace with the latest systems ensuring the efficient operation of vital systems.
The certification indicates that the centre provides availability of 99.982 per cent in terms of its design in accordance with recognised standards.
