Kuwait has introduced tighter regulations on charitable fundraising during Ramadan, banning cash collections and donations inside mosques. The new rules mandate that charitable groups use approved digital and banking channels to receive donations.
Under the new regulations, all forms of donation collection inside mosques are prohibited. Charitable societies are also barred from collecting cash at their headquarters, in public places, or any other locations.
Donations may only be collected through approved methods defined in existing regulations; these include K-Net payments, online donations, bank transfers, smartphone applications, authorised electronic collection devices, and SMS contributions via telecommunications companies.
The updated rules also ban the display of donation advertisements inside or on the outer walls of mosques.
