ENDURANCE HORSERACING – HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa won yesterday the international qualifying race for the FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors 2026, held in Dubai.
Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee deputy chairman and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa was in attendance, along with Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Bahrain Ambassador to the UAE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser triumphed after a strong performance across 160 kilometres, divided into five stages, in the internationally classified three-star event.
Bahrain Royal Endurance Team riders Mohammed Al Hashmi and Mohammed Abdul Samad also participated.
At the end of the race, Shaikh Nasser received a commemorative gift from Dubai Racing Club vice-chairman Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmook Al Maktoum in recognition of his participation.
Shaikh Nasser expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s continued efforts to develop endurance racing and noted that participation in international qualifying races forms part of the preparation programme for the upcoming FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors 2026, scheduled to be held in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia.
Shaikh Nasser highlighted the importance of such events in assessing technical readiness and identifying horses suitable for international competition.
Meanwhile, a number of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team riders also took part in the 120km and 100km races.
