Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday attended the seventh edition of the Government Innovation Competition, ‘Fikra’.
He highlighted the kingdom’s commitment to launching programmes and initiatives that promote innovation and encourage competitiveness across the public sector, in line with the kingdom’s comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad, and in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Isa emphasised the importance of consolidating creativity and innovation that drive progress within government workstreams, and improve the quality and efficiency of government services.
The winning concepts were selected through a rigorous evaluation process involving a ministerial committee, chaired by Shaikh Isa, as well as a public vote.
The winners included:
- Takamul by Captain Abdulla Waheed Almannaei and Alaa Ahmed Albalooshi from the Interior Ministry. Takamul (Integration) aims to unite government entities to share their assets and resources effectively.
- Smart Employment Adviser by Jalal Jaafar Maki from the Legal Affairs Ministry.
- Tameni by Ali Husain Darwish, Maha Majeed Almaarej, Narjes Yusuf Sabt and Fatema Ateya Alaradi from Government Hospitals.
He congratulated the winners, commending the innovative ideas showcased throughout the competition and their potential.
Shaikh Isa noted that the ideas presented reflect a strong culture of initiative, responsibility and commitment to contributing to national development through innovative government solutions.
He praised the participants’ efforts, and wished them success in implementing their ideas.
Shaikh Isa expressed his appreciation to those in charge of Fikra, noting their continued commitment to developing the competition and ensuring the achievement of its winning concepts.
In line with efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the winning initiatives, the ideas will be presented to the Government Executive Committee chaired by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as a step towards their adoption and implementation by the relevant government entities in line with approved procedures.
The ministerial committee was chaired by Shaikh Isa and consisted of Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Labour and Legal Affairs Minister Yousif Khalaf, Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed, Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad Al Malki, Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna Al Romaihi, Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma and Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro.
Fikra contributes to advancing public services in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the 2023-2026 Government Programme.
