Bahrain has welcomed the outcome of the trilateral talks hosted by the UAE in Abu Dhabi, bringing together the US, Russia and Ukraine, which resulted in an agreement to exchange 314 prisoners between the Russian and Ukrainian sides under the US mediation.
A Foreign Ministry statement described the agreement as a positive step towards advancing a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
The statement reiterated Bahrain’s support for, and appreciation of, regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting political solution to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations, and to mitigate its humanitarian repercussions, in a manner that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the European continent and to consolidating just and comprehensive peace and sustainable prosperity at the regional and international levels.
