Shura Council member Adel Al Asoomi has returned to Bahrain and resumed his seat at the council following a lengthy medical absence of nearly a year, after completing a successful course of treatment in Germany.
Mr Al Asoomi was warmly welcomed during yesterday’s session by Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh, along with fellow members, marking an emotional moment inside the chamber.
Mr Al Asoomi said he would resume his parliamentary duties and confirmed that his health condition was ‘good and stable’.

Addressing members, Mr Al Saleh expressed his happiness at Mr Al Asoomi’s return and wished him continued good health.
“We are very happy that you will continue the remaining weeks of the final term with us in good health,” Mr Al Saleh said. “Your return is important to us within this chamber.”
Mr Al Asoomi, a former Speaker of the Arab Parliament and a Bahraini MP for four consecutive terms, thanked the kingdom’s leadership for their support and follow-up throughout his treatment journey.
He also extended his gratitude to senior officials and the wider public for their well-wishes.
