The Kuwaiti Coast Guard successfully thwarted an escape attempt by three fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing and attempted to run over a security officer.
The incident unfolded on Sunday morning during a routine patrol, when security forces spotted three men carrying out unlawful fishing activities. Despite being ordered to stop, the boat’s captain attempted to flee, triggering a high‑speed chase across the water.
The pursuit continued until the men reached the shore, where the captain abandoned the boat, got into his car, and tried to run over a security officer before being subdued and arrested.
All three suspects were taken into custody and were later found to have prior criminal records. Kuwait's Ministry of Interior posted a video of their boat being destroyed as they watched.
