SWIMMING – The tandem of Abdulla Attiya from Bahrain and Loai Abdulwahid Tashkandi from Saudi Arabia completed the Khalid bin Hamad Swim Challenge, which began from Saudi and ended in Zallaq, covering 44.5 kilometres.
The event was held in implementation of the directives of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar received Attiya and Tashkandi upon completing the challenge in 22 hours two minutes and 24 seconds.
Dr Askar presented the pair with medals and congratulated them on their achievement.
