FOOTBALL – Budaiya and Al Najma claimed big victories last night to wrap up matchweek 14 in the 2025-26 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Budaiya outclassed Bahrain Club 3-0 at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town while Najma defeated Sitra 2-0 at The Late Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad.
A brace by Brazilian professional Adriano Soares Filgueira on either side of a Daniel Asante goal gave Budaiya their three points.
Filgueira opened their account in the 42nd minute and then Asante sored seven minutes into the second half.
Filgueira then sealed their victory with a goal two minutes after the hour-mark.
With the result, Budaiya claimed their fifth win of the season and improved to 18 points, while handing Bahrain Club their league-worst 11th loss to stay on seven.
In Najma’s triumph, Ali Aldoseri and French import Zachary Marvin Hadji were on target on either side of the break for Najma.
Aldoseri put them in front on the stroke of half-time while Hadji scored in the 68th minute.
Najma improved to 15 points with their fourth win to tie on the table with Sitra, who suffered their fifth defeat.
