Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi, took part on Tuesday in the meeting of the Arab countries on helping Somalia build its institutions, and cement stability and security.
In a statement, Somalia's permanent representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ali Abdi said the meeting discussed means of strengthening Somalia's national institutions to help the country continue its path toward sustainable development and openness to its Arab, regional and international regions.
Abdi expressed great appreciation to the key role by Saudi Arabia and all Arab countries in support of Somalia, affirming that this backing mirrors historical and fraternal bonds, and embodies Arab countries' unwavering commitment to Somalia. Somalia nowadays is witnessing a new phase of development and tangible improved security conditions as well as continued progress in the path of building the state's institutions, he noted.
He referred to the development in infrastructure, ports, energy, education and basic services, adding that this would contribute to strengthening sustainable development bases, and achieving economic prosperity. He pointed out that Somalia hopes for continued support of Arab countries to enable his country to complete its national priorities and boost development and institutional potential.
