Iran agreed a secret 500 million euro ($589m) arms deal with Russia to acquire thousands of advanced shoulder-fired missiles, the Financial Times reported yesterday.
The agreement, signed in Moscow in December, commits Russia to deliver 500 man-portable Verba launch units and 2,500 9M336 missiles over three years, the FT said, citing leaked Russian documents seen by the FT and several people familiar with the deal.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report.
Flights were suspended at three Moscow airports yesterday evening, aviation regulator Rosaviatsia said in connection with drone attacks which the city’s mayor said had been repelled.
Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky airports had operations paused in a series of recurring suspensions.
Sheremetevo airport was operating normally, Rosaviatsia said.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, in a succession of posts on Telegram, said 20 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed or intercepted en route to Moscow from about 3pm.
