The Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation (MKF) has announced the opening of registration for its ‘Rayaat’ Scholarship Programme for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Applications will be accepted over 10 days from March 29 to April 7.
The initiative reflects the foundation’s steadfast commitment to advancing higher education in Bahrain and empowering national talent to pursue academic excellence at leading institutions, it said.
This year’s programme is offering undergraduate scholarships in partnership with the University of Bahrain and Bahrain Polytechnic, in addition to scholarships under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
These scholarships are available at the British University of Bahrain, Ahlia University, Bangor University and the University of London at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), Euro University of Bahrain and American University of Bahrain.
The programme also includes Her Highness Shaikha Moza Bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund, which will provide medical scholarship opportunities to RCSI – Bahrain.
Those wishing to apply to the private universities mentioned must attach an acceptance letter to the application form.
Foundation board of directors chairperson Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa said that the growing interest among Bahraini youth in university education shows a strong understanding of how knowledge can shape personal goals and national development.
She highlighted that the programme’s graduates have excelled in many professional fields, with many taking positions in leading public and private institutions.
Their success reflects the programme’s quality and its ongoing role in developing skilled, forward-looking leaders for the kingdom, she said.
Shaikha Zain also expressed her goal to expand the foundation’s partnerships to reach more beneficiaries and increase investment in education.
She emphasised the foundation’s commitment to giving students access to both academic and personal development opportunities that build character, broaden horizons and prepare them to contribute to society.
Prospective applicants are invited to complete the registration form through the foundation’s official website.
Selection will be based on academic achievement and performance in a structured assessment process, including excellence in a written examination, successful completion of a personal interview and demonstration of meaningful accomplishments such as volunteer engagement and community service.
Launched in 2011, the Rayaat Scholarship Programme was established to deliver a comprehensive and integrated educational pathway that equips students with the competencies required by a dynamic and evolving labour market.
Since its inception, the foundation has awarded 491 scholarships and will welcome its 16th cohort of scholars this year.
In addition to facilitating enrollment at accredited universities within Bahrain, the programme offers a range of complementary benefits, including financial incentives and diverse training opportunities.
