Courts have been suspended until the end of the week, the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry said yesterday.
All court hearings have been adjourned administratively ‘as a precautionary measure to protect employees and litigants, in light of current circumstances and security developments’.
Although a few lawyers came to the scheduled court dates yesterday, inmates and defendants were not brought from prison to the courthouse. The postponement includes all courts, including criminal and civil courts.
