HANDBALL – THE final of the 2025-26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League between Al Ahli and Barbar has been scheduled for Tuesday next week.
This was announced yesterday by the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF). The start time of the one-off contest will be revealed in due course, the BHF said. It will be played at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.
Ahli are set to take on Barbar in the title-decider after both teams won their respective best-of-three Golden Square semi-final series with two-game sweeps.
Ahli overcame a tough challenge from Al Shabab, while Barbar stunned Al Najma, dethroning last year’s champions and setting the stage for the crowning of new title winners.
Ahli, coached by Serbian Predrag Petljanski, will be relying on their star players Ali Eid, Sayed Ahmed Faiq, Abdulla Ali, Jassim Al Salatna, Ali Mirza, Qassim Qambar, and goalkeepers Hussain Mahfoudh and Salah Abduljaleel.
Barbar, guided by Bahraini tactician Hussam Madan, will be spearheaded by top stars Salman Al Showaikh, Hasan Alfardan, Maitham Mahdi, Ali Madan, Ali Abdulqader, Mohamed Abdulla, and custodian Issa Khalaf.
