Philanthropist and entrepreneur Dr Shamsheer Vayalil has announced an AED 1 million (approx BD 100,000) fund to support the families of those affected by the tragic incident that killed seven people in Dubai.
The support will extend to all affected by the incident, Vayalil said on Wednesday, with the programme including each family member of the deceased receiving AED 100,000 (BD 10,000), while AED 180,000 (BD 18,000) will be allocated to support the injured.
Of the nine survivors of the incident, eight are Indian nationals, and one is Nepalese. Five of them have been discharged so far, while the rest are still receiving treatment.
The package also includes emergency travel, accommodation and support for the education of the children from the affected families.
