CRICKET – Bahrain’s most iconic touring cricket club, the Awali Camels, are preparing for their 31st annual summer tour.
Following last year’s spectacular 30th-anniversary celebrations in South Wales, an elite 18-man squad will this year head to the picturesque and traditional heartland of English cricket: the Kent region.
The five-day tour, running from July 26 to 30, will see the Camels test their skills against some of the most historic and competitive club sides in the UK.
The tour’s prestigious headline sponsor is Almoayyed Motors, the official Ford distributor for Bahrain.
Almoayyed Motors has agreed to exclusive, sole sponsorship of the Camels’ 2026 tour shirts, which again will be provided by Macron.
“We are incredibly proud and profoundly grateful for the ongoing, generous support of Almoayyed Motors,” said Awali Camels fixture secretary Paul Baker.
“In today’s sporting and economic landscape, having such a premier Bahraini brand throw its full weight behind our club is a magnificent endorsement. Thanks to their sponsorship, our squad will take the field in world-class custom kit, and we are delighted to showcase the Almoayyed Motors and Ford names on the historic grounds of England.”
The Kent Itinerary will see the Camels face a gruelling but thrilling schedule of five fixtures in five days.
On July 26, the tour bowls off at the iconic Gore Court ground against the formidable Farningham Exiles.
The following day, the squad returns to the same venue for a back-to-back clash against the hosts themselves.
On July 28, a traditional declaration match against the scenic and deeply historic Linton Park CC will be held, then, the pace quickens the next day with an action-packed evening T20 format match against Addington Village CC – a short-form spectacle sure to resonate with fans of the modern game.
On July 30, the tour reaches its grand finale with the Camels facing The Mote CC at their famous, historic Maidstone ground – a venue that has hosted first-class cricket for well over a century.
In keeping with touring tradition, the Camels will be presenting bespoke memento trophies – also funded through the Almoayyed Motors partnership – to the opposition captains after each fixture, fostering deep sporting ties between Bahrain and the UK.
With the tour less than a week away, the Macron-designed shirts have received final approval from the Sitra-based automotive giants.
The Camels are raring to go, aiming to match – and exceed – the incredible on-field successes achieved during last year’s milestone anniversary.
