His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Cabinet held today at Qudaibiya Palace.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council praised the results of the meeting held by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, with his brother, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, stressing that the visit of His Excellency the Egyptian President to the Kingdom of Bahrain reflected the special nature of the close and deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and the keenness to communicate, coordinate and consult on developments in the current situation.
The Council then welcomed the holding of the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia from October 2 to 4, 2026, which came with the blessing of His Majesty the King of the country, may God protect him, and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim bin Sultan Iskandar, King of Malaysia, and based on the close fraternal relations between the two countries, expressing its thanks and appreciation to Malaysia, Formula One, the International Automobile Federation, Bahrain International Circuit, Sepang International Circuit and the participating teams for their support.
The Cabinet also stressed the importance of continuing national efforts in combating human trafficking, which enhances the advanced position that the Kingdom of Bahrain occupies in this field, expressing its thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Interior and all concerned authorities for their distinguished efforts, on the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
Following that, the Council considered a number of memoranda submitted to it by the Supreme Council for Education and Training Development, ministerial committees and ministers, and approved the following:
1. Performance report of the education and training sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the academic year 2025-2026 and the proposed plan to improve performance.
2. The Quarterly Economic Report for the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first quarter of 2026.
3. The Kingdom of Bahrain’s contributions to regional and international organisations.
4. Annual report and audited financial statements for the Future Generations Reserve Fund for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.
5. The government's response to a number of proposals submitted by the House of Representatives.
The Council also reviewed the performance of government agencies in the "Registers", "Communication" and "Buildings" systems during the period from January to June 2026 and compared it to the same period during the year 2025.
The council also reviewed a number of reports on:
1. The official visit made by His Excellency the Minister of Interior to the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic.
2. Results of participation in the high-level meeting of the General Assembly for the mid-term review of the implementation of the urban plan.
3. External engagements of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Ministers and visits of ministers of sisterly and friendly countries to the Kingdom of Bahrain during the month of August.
