SHOWJUMPING – Bahrain’s world champion showjumper Sami Ghazwan will be delivering a special lecture tomorrow entitled ‘The Secrets of Showjumping: From Daily Training to the Podium’.
The event is being supported by the Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation.
It will take place at Spire Hub in Seef, and it is free and open to the public.
New and intermediate riders and new trainers are encouraged to take part in the lecture, which is scheduled to begin at 7.30pm and end at 9.30pm.
Those interested in joining are requested to arrive at the venue at 7pm.
The lecture aims to provide modern and advanced scientific content that contributes to the development of Bahraini riders, especially youngsters, while also further developing new trainers.
Amongst the topics to be tackled are daily training for showjumping riders and how to set the pace and control obstacles; gearing up for championships with mental and physical preparations for horse and rider; secrets of manoeuvring the course such as understanding the language of the arena and accurately calculating steps; and competition techniques and how to avoid mistakes.

Ghazwan was the individual champion at the 2025 CISM World Military Equestrian Championship, held at Kayan Equestrian Club in Egypt last year.
He is also a highly qualified trainer certified by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI).
