A stray white dog allegedly bit 130 people within four hours in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
The incident took place in the Kalyan Adharwadi area on Sunday evening.
According to Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) officials, the dog was roaming the area when it suddenly became aggressive and went on a biting spree. The dog attacked more than 130 people, all of whom were rushed to a nearby hospital for anti-rabies vaccinations, an official said.
Dr Sandeep Pagare, from Kalyan’s KDMC Rukminibai Hospital, confirmed the high number of admissions: “130 dog bite patients have visited the hospital today and have been administered a rabies injection. All of them complained that they had been bitten by a white dog.”
The dog was later captured following a search operation that lasted seven hours.
