TENNIS – Ghazal Issa won first place in an under-eight tournament for girls and boys, organised by the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) as part of Sports City 26 in Exhibition World Bahrain.
Ghazal secured the title in a second BTF competition at Sports City 26, having also emerged triumphant in the under-10 event.
She was victorious ahead of runner-up Nasser Al Sayegh, while Salem Al Dosari finished third and Salman Hamad came fourth.
At the conclusion of the action, BTF board member Mohammed Salman and BTF board member and women’s committee head Jameela Al Nashaba presented the awards to the winning players.
Wafaa Adnan was also recognised as the player who showcased the most significant improvement in her skills in the under-eight category.
The competition took place in a vibrant sporting atmosphere, reflecting the growing interest in tennis amongst the kingdom’s youth. Players were enthusiastic in their matches, displaying good levels of skill and promising abilities.
It was part of the BTF’s unwavering commitment to providing youngsters with opportunities to enjoy playing while gaining valuable experience in a competitive environment suited to their age.
The BTF is keen to continue organising such events as well as training programmes, which will contribute to discovering tennis talent, hone their skills from an early age, and encourage the young players to continue practising and progressing by participating in competitions.
