BODYBUILDING – The International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) has officially recognised the third KHK Open Bodybuilding Championship as an international competition and has included it in its annual calendar.
The championship will be held on September 18 and 19 at Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Hall at University of Bahrain.
The recognition reflects the event’s growing standing and the success of its previous two editions, enhancing its regional and international profile.
It is expected to attract leading champions, professionals, and amateurs from around the world.
Bahrain Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (BBFF) president and the championship’s supreme organising committee chairman Sami Al Haddad said the recognition reflects international confidence in Bahrain’s capabilities to host major sporting events to the highest standards.
He described the recognition as a significant addition to the federation’s achievements, providing athletes with opportunities to earn recognised international rankings in accordance with IFBB regulations and contributing to the development of bodybuilding and fitness locally and regionally.
Al Haddad affirmed that the BBFF continues to pursue a strategy of hosting major international championships, supporting sports tourism, and further establishing Bahrain as a preferred destination for major sporting events.
