The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) announced yesterday the launch of its media campaign for the kingdom’s delegation that will be participating in the fast-approaching 20th Asian Games, set to take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan starting next month.
The campaign’s unveiling came with 40 days to go for the multi-sport Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) spectacle, which officially gets underway on September 19.
In a post on the BOC’s official social media account, artwork featuring Bahrain’s senior men’s handball national team star Mohammed Habib Ahmed – with a number of the kingdom’s other top athletes from various sports on either side and below of Ahmed – was published with the launch.
According to a BOC official, the kingdom’s full delegation as well as the number of sports Bahrain will be participating in will be announced in due course.
Aichi and Nagoya will mark the 14th time Bahrain are participating in the quadrennial Asiad.
The kingdom’s athletes first competed in 1974 and have been a part of the Asian Games in each edition since.
Bahrain is expected to be among the 45 OCA member nations that will be competing in this year’s event, with the OCA expecting up to 15,000 athletes, both men and women, vying for gold in the 469 medal events across 43 sports.
