A 40-year-old man allegedly murdered his two young daughters, aged five and 10, before attempting suicide at a luxury hotel in Bengaluru, India, on Monday.
The incident came to light after staff at the Taj Hotel alerted police to the suspected deaths of two children.
Police found the father unconscious in the same room with severe throat injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital, where officials confirmed he is currently out of danger.
Preliminary inquiries indicate that the man strangled both girls before attempting to end his life. He left a note at the scene citing a marital dispute and accusing his wife of infidelity.
A case has been registered and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths is ongoing.
