The Ministry of Interior announced Monday the arrest of a Kuwaiti citizen in Al-Dohah area for operating a marijuana cultivation farm and possessing six kilogrammes of marijuana, cultivation equipment, a quarter kilogramme of hashish and KD 17,820 (around USD 58,000).
The ministry said in a statement that the arrest came after the General Department for Narcotics Control completed investigation and surveillance procedures, which led to identifying the farm's location and arresting the suspect along with the seized narcotics, cultivation
equipment and cash.
It pointed out that monitoring and investigations revealed that the suspect was cultivating marijuana and possessing narcotic substances "for trafficking and abuse."
The suspect and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take all necessary legal measures, the ministry added
