BAHRAIN Duty Free Shop Complex announced at a meeting of its board of directors yesterday, the financial results for the six months period ended June 30, 2026.
Chairman of the board Abdulla Buhindi said that the company had achieved a net profit of BD460,240 during the second quarter of 2026 compared to BD1,297,207 for the same quarter of the previous year representing a decrease of 64.5 per cent.
Earnings per share during the quarter were 3.23 fils compared to 9.12 fils in the same quarter of last year.
Total comprehensive income for the quarter decreased to BD396,767 compared to total comprehensive income of BD1,392,155 in the same quarter of last year representing a decrease of 71.5pc.
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, the company achieved a net profit of BD2,248,457 compared to BD2,990,477 in the previous year representing a decrease of 24.8pc. Earnings per share as of June 30, 2026 were 15.80 fils compared to 21.02 fils last year.
Total comprehensive income decreased to BD2,403,135 compared to BD3,567,290 in the previous year representing a decrease of 32.6pc.
Total shareholders’ equity for the period ended June 30, 2026 is BD43,623,500 compared to BD46,821,275 as of December 31, 2025, representing a decrease of 6.8pc Total assets as of June 30, 2026, are BD43,761,095 compared to BD47,031,584 as of December 31, 2025, with a decrease of 7pc.
Commenting on the financial results, Mr Buhindi said that the company’s performance for the six months ended June 2026 was influenced by a number of geopolitical developments, which affected results during the first half of the year. Despite these challenges, the company maintained its operational resilience, while continuing to focus on cost control, efficiency enhancement, and disciplined management across its business activities.
Mr Buhindi further noted that Bahrain continues to reinforce its position as a leading model of security and stability, thereby strengthening investor confidence under the wise vision and leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and with the continued support and dedicated efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He added that the recent challenges have demonstrated the strength of the kingdom’s institutional and economic framework, as well as its readiness to respond effectively to developments and contain their impact, thereby helping to reduce their repercussions on the business environment and commercial sector.
Mr Buhindi also highlighted the continued support of the esteemed government in sustaining economic activity through appropriate measures and initiatives, as part of a practical approach aimed at safeguarding vital sectors and strengthening their ability to recover and grow.
He concluded by affirming that the company will continue to develop its operational performance and pursue available opportunities to enhance its investment portfolio, while maintaining policies that support financial sustainability and deliver added value to shareholders.
