Manama, Aug. 12 (BNA): Ten insulin pumps were provided to children with diabetes in a community initiative held in the presence of Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) and Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, and Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Honourary President of the Good Word Society.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah commended the Good Word Society’s efforts and its cooperation with the Bahrain Diabetes Society in providing the pumps, noting their role in helping children manage diabetes more effectively and improve their quality of life.
He also praised the contribution of the Zakat and Charity Fund at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf towards providing insulin pumps, devices and glucose monitoring sensors for children with diabetes, highlighting its role in supporting patients and their families and easing the financial burden of their healthcare needs.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah affirmed the SCH’s commitment to enhancing the quality of healthcare services and strengthening cooperation between health, charitable and community organisations to support patients and improve their quality of life.
The initiative reflects the importance of community partnership in supporting children with diabetes and reinforcing the values of solidarity and giving in Bahraini society.
