BASKETBALL – Seef will be flying the kingdom’s flag this weekend at the Singapore Challenger 2026, a part of the Fiba 3x3 World Tour 2026.
The Bahraini squad will be taking to the half-court this Saturday and Sunday with the quartet of Bogdan Dragovic, Uros Ilic, Austin Ajukwa, and Isa Jasim.
Aside from battling for a share of the $60,000 in prize money on offer to the top five teams, the tournament also acts as a qualifier for the Malaga Masters in Spain – a top-tier Fiba 3x3 World Tour event scheduled for October 10 and 11.
The three best-placed squads in Singapore will punch their tickets to the Malaga showcase.
Seef head into this weekend’s competition fresh from winning the overall title in the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026.
They are one of 12 teams from around the world in the preliminary round, placed in Pool A alongside Amsterdam Rabobank from the Netherlands and home side Singapore.
Pool B is composed of Skyliners from Germany, London from Britain, and Caloocan from the Philippines.
Pool C features Toronto from Canada, Crvena Zvezda from Serbia, and one of two teams from the qualifying draw, while Pool D includes Toulouse from France, Hangzhou Jingwei from China, and the second side from qualification.
The qualifiers consist of six squads who are divided into two groups.
Draw A features Shanghai from China, Christchurch BBNZ from New Zealand, and Tokyo from Japan, while Draw B is composed of Barcelona from Spain, Taipei WanBao from Chinese Taipei, and Abidjan from Ivory Coast. The top team from each draw make it into pool play.
Seef begin their campaign on Saturday against Amsterdam at 12.15pm.
They then take on Singapore at 3.55pm to complete their preliminary round schedule.
The Bahraini outfit will be hoping to make it through to the knockout stages on Sunday, which kick off with the quarter-finals at 11.20am.
The semis follow at 1.30pm with the title-deciding game slated for 3pm. All times are Bahrain.
The Fiba 3x3 World Tour is the premier street basketball series sanctioned by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba), and it features tournaments of various levels held around the world.
Masters events are at the highest tier, followed by Challengers – both of which are fed by qualifiers, which include Super Quest, Quest, and Lite Quest events.
Bahrain has been involved as a host nation on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour in the past three seasons.
In 2023 and 2024, Bahrain hosted the Manama Masters, while last year, the kingdom staged the Fiba 3x3 World Tour Final for the very first time.
The Manama Masters will be returning towards the end of this season for its third edition on November 20 and 21.
Seef have been a part of 3x3 basketball’s premier international circuit the past two campaigns.
