HORSERACING – VICTORIOUS Forever horses had solid results yesterday in their respective international races in England.
Coat of Red was the day’s top-finisher for the leading Bahraini stable, owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian works and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Trained by Simon and Ed Crisford and ridden by Callum Rodriguez, Coat of Red took third in the BetVictor Watch Weekend Winners EBF Fillies’ Conditions Stakes, held at Newbury Racecourse.
The two-year-old bay filly finished the six-furlong race behind winner Evenfall, competing for owner Mrs Hugo Lascelles, trainer George Boughey, and jockey Billy Loughnane, while Sorrengail was the runner-up for Godolphin, Charlie Appleby, and William Buick.
Also at Newbury, Victorious Forever’s Efsixteen, trained by George Scott and ridden by Tom Marquand, finished fourth in the Listed Visit Malta St Hugh’s Stakes, held over five furlongs.
The two-year-old grey filly was just outside of the top three, which was led by Angels Lane, racing for Cartwright and Candy, Henry Candy, and Nicola Currie.
Fast Track took second place for Sultan Ali, Andrew Balding, and Oisin Murphy, while Wateera was third for Mohamed Saeed Al Shehhi and Burke, KR Burke, and Clifford Lee.
Elsewhere yesterday, On Target finished fourth in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Great Yarmouth Racecourse.
Victorious Forever’s two-year-old bay colt, trained by Scott and ridden yesterday by Darragh Keenan, finished narrowly behind the leaders after seven furlongs of racing.
Rock Montreal secured first place for Godolphin, Roger Varian, and Ray Dawson, while Mino took second for owners Jonny Allison and Les Boyer and trainer Marco Botti, with Benoit De La Sayette in the saddle.
Junior Again finished third Roldvale Limited, Boughey, and Jamie Spencer.
