The Indian community in Bahrain celebrated the nation’s 80th Independence Day yesterday with a number of colourful and vibrant events.
More than 1,000 people gathered at the Indian Embassy in Seef District, where Ambassador Vinod Jacob hoisted the flag and read out President Droupadi Murmu’s Independence Day message.

Embassy celebrations featured a Vande Mataram performance by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, commemorating 150 years of the composition of the national song.
The Indian Club Bahrain marked the event with a flag hoisting ceremony at its premises with around 100 people in attendance, including its members.
General secretary Anil Kumar welcomed the gathered community members.
