BADMINTON – Nadeem Nahaz and Togy Mathew were crowned premier doubles champions in the Indian Club Members’ Monthly Badminton Tournament, played at the club’s premises and focused exclusively on intense doubles action.
The four-day championship saw the club’s top internal pairings battle on the courts in a thrilling display of teamwork, fast-paced rallies, and sportsmanship. Enthusiastic crowds gathered daily to cheer the competitors on, creating a vibrant community atmosphere.
Nahaz and Mathew won their category ahead of runners-up Mathew Cherian and Jisham Muhammed.
Winners were also crowned in the tournament’s four other classes.
Balaji C and Joseph Joy took first place in the level one doubles division, with Vinod Coelho and Jaison K finishing as runners-up.
Akhil Kumar R and Vipin TG took the level two doubles crown with Jacob Thomas and Parinesh securing second place.
Jubin Varghese and Sherin Sha were triumphant in the level three doubles category, where Arjun Arunkumar and Sai Srinivans Arunkumar finished as runners-up.
Sayed Fizan and George K George were victorious in the level four doubles class to complete the list of winners.
They were classified ahead of Manesh Prasad and Sarath KS in second.
Following play on the final day of the championship, the prize distribution ceremony took place in the presence of the club’s executive committee, badminton committee, tournament officials, and the organising team. Trophies and prizes were presented to the winners and runners-up.
The Indian Club’s executive committee expressed their sincere gratitude to all sponsors, officials, volunteers, and participants for their support and contribution to the success of the tournament. The club also thanked spectators and well-wishers.
