Toyota Racing fought back to power to a sensational victory in the Six Hours of Fuji in Japan today and extend their lead in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) standings after an incident-packed home race.
Toyota’s number eight crew of Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa won the event in their TR010 Hybrid and took the lead in the drivers’ title fight with two races remaining in the WEC season.
Toyota earned their 10th victory at Fuji and also stretched their advantage in the manufacturers’ world championship to 23 points.
