BAHRAIN take on Saudi Arabia in Group Four of the 2017 Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone today at 10am at Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) courts at Bahrain Polytechnic in Isa Town.
The draw, which took place yesterday at K Hotel in Juffair, put Bahrain in Group ‘A’ alongside Cambodia, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan.
Group ‘B’ consists of six teams with Iraq being the top seed. The others in this group are Singapore Bangladesh, Oman, Tajikistan and Mongolia.
The draw was attended by organisers and team managers, who were briefed about the rules of the tournament as well as its format.

The winner of each group take on the runner-up of the other group to determine the two nations getting promoted to Asia-Oceania Zone Group III in 2018.
Bahrain will be represented by Yusuf Qaed, Elyas Abdulredha, Hassan Abdulredha, and Abdulkarim Abdulredha, who have all undergone strong training sessions ahead of the event.
Bahrain’s captain is former Davis Cup player Essam Abdulaal.
The team took part in the Ministry of Interior ITF Futures Tennis Tournament in mid-March. The tournament saw the participation of 56 players from 30 countries compete at the Public Security Sports Courts.
That was followed by another ITF Futures Tournament held at Bahrain Tennis Club in Juffair which concluded on Saturday.
Bahrain first took part in the Davis Cup in 1989 where they managed to defeat Syria 4-1 in the preliminary game of Group Two before losing to Thailand 5-0 in the quarter-finals.
Bangladesh take on Oman on Court Two at 10am. On Court Three, Iraq face Mongolia while the last match of the day on Court Four will see Singapore clashing with Tajikistan.
