KSA – A video of a child buried up to his head in the sand has sparked wide outrage amid calls to take legal action.
Labour and Social Development Ministry official Spokesperson Khalid Al-Khail slammed the illegal act which endangered the toddler’s life.
“What was done to the toddler was harmful and amounts to violence which is punishable by the law”, he said.
A man is heard laughing in the viral video while filming the tearful boy who looked terrified.
Cardiovascular Consultant Dr. Khalid Al-Nimr said that burying a child in sand is no way to treat heart or brain electrical impulses, nor does it help toddlers walk quickly.
He warned that reckless burying of children in the sand, out of belief that they are therapeutic, could harm a child’s development.
