Manama: It could soon be a matter of minutes to reach Abu Dhabi from Dubai, if claim made by Peter Diamandis is true. According to the Chairman of the X Prize foundation, UAE could be the first to have a fully operational 'hyperloop' passenger transport system.
Well, if you are thinking if such a feat is possible, then the answer is positive.
At a claimed speed of 1200 mph and with the help of world renowned engineer and CEO of Space X Elon Musk, this dream can turn into a reality sooner than you can imagine.
Diamandis, who is on a visit to Dubai, said,"If the UAE wants it, it could be operational before 2020".
The projected top speed is twice the current record set by Japan's 'maglev' passenger train in April this year.
The $318 billion Maglev trains will link Tokyo and Osaka with a one hour travelling time.
However, Musk's plans are significantly cheaper.
