A poetry reading and a talk on meal prep was held at Words Book Café yesterday as part of a fundraising campaign.
Local author Laala Kashef Alghata gave a reading of her book Cupid’s Rage as well as tips and tricks for meal prep from her blog Sand Kitchen.
The event is part of a series of events that aims to raise money for local charities, organised by Tru Active.
The event, held as part of its Pop Up store at Words Bookstore Cafe, began on Wednesday.
Also giving a talk was local foodie Mahmood Janahi, who held an exclusive meet and greet at the café.
Events conclude today with a ‘Mommy and Me’ yoga event at 10am and a talk by YZ Project creator Yousif Zaman from 12.30pm about the essential steps to becoming triathlon fit.
A minimum donation of BD3 per person is required for yoga while the talks are free to attend.
