Kuwait City – An African swindler suspected of conning ten Kuwaiti citizens is facing trial.
The conman cheated on his victims using a machine for printing counterfeit dollars, according to Al-Qabas.
The Criminal Investigation officers arrested the suspect and referred him to competent authorities to face charges and then stand trial.
He confessed to cheating on more than ten Kuwaiti nationals, adding that he planned to leave the country two days before his arrest.
According to initial victim, the suspect fills the machine with genuine dollar banknotes in the denomination of US100 and makes his victim believe he printed them.
Once he wins his victims’ trust, he offers to sell them counterfeit dollar banknotes for less than their real market value - $1,000 in exchange for KD150 only.
The victims who were conned out of their money lodged complaints with the police which led to the suspect’s arrest.
