Several men, including a muezzin, have been remanded in police custody for seven days in connection to the brutal murder and dismemberment of a Bahraini imam.
The Bangladeshi muezzin appeared in the Public Prosecution yesterday where he confessed to hacking to death Shaikh Abduljalil Hmood inside a Muharraq mosque after dawn prayers on Saturday.
He is accused of premeditated murder and will appear before prosecutors again next Wednesday.
The Public Prosecution said in a statement issued today that several other suspects have also been arrested in connection to aiding and abetting the crime, which they also confessed to.
