BAHRAIN’S athletes competing in shooting and cycling were far from medal contention in their respective events yesterday at the 18th Asian Games.
Shooters Safa Aldoseri and Sara Aldoseri could not advance past the qualifying round of the 50 metres Rifle 3 position women’s competition, while cyclist Razan Soboh did not finish in the women’s 100km road race.
Safa completed her campaign in 19th place with a 1,145 total. She scored 387 in kneeling position, 392 in prone position and 366 in standing position.
Sara ended 29th with a total of 1,122 - 373 in kneeling position, 382 in prone position and 367 in standing position.
In cycling, Razan was one of 21 cyclists to start the 100km race but she was the only one not to finish. Ahreum Na of South Korea won the gold medal in two hours 55 minutes 47 seconds.
Today Bahrain will be taking part in cycling, bowling and taekwondo.
