A MAN who assaulted his wife, sister-in-law and mother-in-law after accusing them of debauchery has been fined BD50.
The Bahraini was convicted of assault and insult by the Lower Criminal Court.
According to his wife, the defendant attacked the three women at a house in Hamad Town, after threatening her that he would file a police complaint if she visited her aunt’s house.
“On September 28, 2016 my husband called me as I left work and asked me where I was,” the 22-year-old customer service employee told prosecutors in a statement.
“But when I told him I was going to my aunt’s house, he threatened to file a police complaint.
“However, I had already reached my aunt’s house in Hamad Town where my mother and sister were also there.
“At around 9pm my husband stormed into the house and dragged me to the door with my clothes.
“He also hit my sister on the head when she tried to come to my aid, and pushed my mother causing her to hit her head against a wall.
“He then insulted us.”
The victim’s mother said the defendant attacked them after accusing her of pimping out her children to men at discos.
“I received a call from my daughter complaining about her husband beating and insulting her,” the 58-year-old Bahraini told prosecutors.
“I told her to meet me at my sister’s house in Hamad Town, where I heard her arguing with her husband on the phone.
“At around 9pm I heard screams and I saw him (the defendant) pulling my daughter by her clothes.
“He attacked my other daughter too and pushed me against a wall; I injured my head in the process.
“He insulted us and said I pimped out my girls to men in hotels and discos.
“He then left the house.”
