The Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) will hold a new session of national examinations for grade 12 and six students on March 3-6 and April 10-16. A total of 10,690 grade 12 students from 44 government schools and seven private ones will sit the exams, while 13,513 sixth grade students from 101 public schools and 19 private ones will also take the exams.

Egypt ties hailed
Regional and international developments were the focus of a phone call between His Majesty King Hamad and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. The two leaders commended deep-rooted historic relations between Bahrain and Egypt.
His Majesty highlighted Egypt’s pivotal role in maintaining security in the Middle East, hailing its efforts to support Arab stability. President Sisi thanked His Majesty. He wished him abundant health and happiness and Bahrain and its people more progress and prosperity.
Hizbollah chief rapped
Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has criticised Lebanese Hizbollah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah for ignoring Lebanon’s safety and prosperity. “Peace, prosperity, international status and civilisation of Lebanon does not concern the terrorist, Nasrallah,” Shaikh Khalid tweeted yesterday. “Iranian money and weapons and praising the Iranian supreme leader concern him,” he said in reply to a statement by Nasrallah declaring that the terrorist group was “as strong as ever”. Nasrallah said he had a plan to attack Al Jalil in Occupied Palestine.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received a cable of thanks from new Bahrain Journalists Association chairperson Ahdeya Ahmed in reply to a cable of congratulations on her election.

The Foreign Ministry yesterday condemned the twin terrorist bombings which targeted a church in Jolo Island, the Philippines, leaving dozens of people dead and injured. It extended sincere condolences to the families of the victims, wishing those injured a speedy recovery.

Distribution of homes in the Hamad Town project to eligible recipients got underway yesterday. The move follows an order issued by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince during the Government Forum 2018, to distribute 5,000 housing units.

A ROW over 144 employees being transferred from Bapco to Tatweer has been resolved, it has been announced. The Labour and Social Development Ministry said yesterday that an agreement had been reached to ensure the labourers received the same benefits after completing the switch.
