Riyadh: The overall outflows of expats’ remittances dropped by 2.5 per cent (SAR286 million) last January to stand at SAR11 billion, Eqtisadiah reported.
Last December, foreigners living and working in Saudi Arabia, sent abroad SAR11.3bn.
According to figures released by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the overall annual outflows of expats’ remittances grew by 6.1pc.
The overall population of Saudi Arabia stands at 33.4 million – of whom 62.2pc are nationals (20.8 million) and 37.8pc are expatriates (12.6 million).
Last year, the overall outflows of expats’ remittances dropped by 3.7pc (SAR5.22bn) to stand at SAR136.43bn, down from SAR141.66bn in 2017.
