Doha: Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) spent QR100,000 towards 160kg of food supplies meant for Yemeni refugees in Abakh costal area of Djibouti. The move is aimed as a fresh humanitarian aid.
At least 500 boxes of food supplies were distributed in the presence of Arab League Secretary-General’s envoy for humanitarian relief, Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Thani.
The boxes contained dates, rice, flour, edible oil, beans, milk powder, canned tuna, sugar and tea boxes. The initial cost of QR100,000 was donated by people in Qatar. Some 3,000 people of 500 families have benefited, reported English daily Peninsula.
The initiative is part of a relief campaign launched by RAF for Yemeni people affected by the ongoing war. Some 20,000 refugees are sheltered at Abakh.
