Bahrain's Foreign Ministry has condemned the terrorist attack on Sunday that targeted a police compound in Puli Khumri, about 250 kilometres north of Afghanistan's capital Kabul, resulting in 13 deaths and injury to dozens more.
The ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
It affirmed the solidarity of the kingdom with Afghanistan and reiterated its firm position that rejects all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.
The deadly assault by a Taliban suicide bomber and several gunmen occurred two days after President Ashraf Ghani offered the Taliban a ceasefire during the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Monday.
