Members of diverse communities in the kingdom came together under one roof in an endearing show of unity yesterday.
This Is Bahrain’s annual Eid breakfast, hosted at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Manama, brought together prominent businessmen, religious leaders and other guests in a demonstration of unity, solidarity, patriotism and national resilience.
The event also witnessed the launch of a new national initiative BAHRAIN IS UNITED. Founded on the enduring Bahraini values of mutual respect, compassion, peaceful coexistence and loyalty to the King and the country, it seeks to reinforce the spirit that has always defined Bahrain – one nation, one family, standing together in times of challenge and in times of peace.
“We gather this morning at a time of uncertainty in our region,” This Is Bahrain chairperson Betsy Mathieson said, addressing the attendees.
“It is in moments like these that the true character of a people is revealed. And the character of Bahrain has always been one of faith, courage, loyalty, gratitude and unity,” she added.
“This year holds special significance, as we celebrate the Year of Isa Al Kabeer, the architect of modern Bahrain. More than a century ago, Isa Al Kabeer laid the foundations of a nation built upon openness, justice, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. Those foundations remain as strong today as they were then.
“Under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, that legacy has not merely been preserved – it has been strengthened, expanded and amplified on the global stage.”
A special patriotic song, created in collaboration with renowned Bahraini musician Ahmed AlJumairy and poet Abdulaziz Al Yahya, reflecting the unity of the Bahraini people and paying tribute to the leadership, was also showcased at the event.
