Abu Dhabi: Two doctors and a medical centre director have been suspended after a 24-year-old Emirati woman went into a coma after a botched cosmetic surgery.
An ENT surgeon, a anesthesia specialist and the centre's medical director will not be allowed to conduct surgeries pending results of the investigation.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) suspended the 'First Med Day Surgery Centre Dubai' from conducting any surgeries until the investigation is complete.
The regulatory authority said that legal action will be taken against all those who risk the lives of patients.
The patient suffered a cardiac arrest for seven minutes, which damaged her brain and left her paralysed over the past 16 days.
The woman, who was admitted to surgery for a simple nose procedure to correct a deviated septum, was a victim of malpractice and doctors' negligence, said the statement, according to Khaleej Times.
