Bahrain Amateur Yakshagana artists and child artists, under the patronage of Kannada Sangha, presented an Indian mythological dance drama at KCA Hall, Segaya, in front of a packed audience. It was the young artists’ first-ever full-fledged Yakshagana performance in full make-up and colourful costumes weighing almost 15 to 20kg, including heavy headgears. Each artist took almost a minimum of two hours to get ready for the show. The performance was held under the direction of famous Yakshagana artist and teacher Deepak Rao Pejawara, who is now a resident of Bahrain. The team honoured Mr Pejawara during the show. The artists and volunteers were presented with mementoes after the show. The event was jointly managed by Ram Prasad and Mohan Edneer. Above, A scene from the play.
