SHAKER Kamel and Jassim Hasan took the National Physique Championship trophy at the Fourth Flex Sports Festival, organised in partnership with the Bahrain Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (BWBF) at Alba Sports Club premises in Riffa.
A full-house crown witnessed some exciting battles between Bahrain’s top musclemen, as Kamel took the 172 centimetre gold medal following a well-contested challenge.
Kamel’s main opponent Husain Abbas took the silver medal, followed by Sultan Saad who rounded off the podium taking home the bronze medal. Ahmed Isa came in fourth position, followed by fifth Ahmed Jassim and sixth Sayed Kadhim Jameel.
In the above 172cm event, Hasan came on top against main challengers Ahmed Adel and Abdulkarim Abduljalil, who were second and third, respectively. Saud Adel, Mansoor Hasan and Abdulla Khamis were placed fourth to sixth.
The Bodybuilding Classic Championship also took place on the same day as Jassim Hasan edged Ali Maseeb, who bagged the silver, while Ahmed Yousef received the bronze. Mahmood Abdulwahed, Mansor Hasan and Ahmed Kamel claimed fourth to sixth place awards.
The winners in all three competitions received their awards from the event patron, Vice-President of International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness and President of Asian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness and BWF, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
The festival will come to a close today with the National Weightlifting Championship from 9am until noon.
The prejudging of the National Bodybuilding Championship will also be held today from 2pm, to be followed by the final show from 7pm.
Side activities taking place on the same day include an Exhibition Event from 9am to 5pm, as well as a Car Show Competition that will run between 9am and 7pm. All are welcome to witness the concluding day’s action.
