Manama Suq has always had an attraction to me for wandering around, looking at all the various stalls and enjoying the Bahrain environment.
I was very surprised the other day while entering the suq from the American Mission Hospital end to find at the start of the suq there was a gridlock of cars, bumper to bumper and no one was moving. So, even pedestrians were denied the pleasure of shopping. What was even worse was that I saw several people in their cars purchasing items from their window!!
What about banning cars from driving through the suq, thereby allowing the stall holders to have more customers, but at the same time, encouraging people to walk through the suq? This might help solve the problem of obesity.
