Abu Dhabi: Motorists using cellphones while driving will face a fine of AED800 and four black points.
Traffic police in Abu Dhabi announced the measures which aimed at ensuring drivers' and road users’ safety.
The police statement said that using cellphones represents one of the most common driving distractions in the UAE, which leads to dangerous accidents.
In a post on social media, Abu Dhabi traffic police warns mainly against playing games on the mobile while driving.
