Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has denied social media rumours claiming it has forced its employees to sign blank papers.
The management has reaffirmed that the rumours, which include forcing employees to go on annual leave, were untrue.
“The company has provided all the necessary precautionary measures for all its employees during the Covid-19,” said an official statement from the company.
“BAS, whose commercial activity goes back 42 years, has cared for its human element throughout the decades, especially the national cadre.
“The company has created a specialised committee to manage disasters and emergencies within efforts to monitor compliance with measure in place by official authorities.
“BAS, which is a national company, hires around 3,000 employees and cleaners at the Bahrain International Airport and precautionary plans are in place to operate the airport during air traffic stagnation to protect employees by implementing normal contracts to ensure business continues without major side-effects.”
The company also assured that employees were asked to clear their accumulated leave days from previous years without impacting their future holiday allowance and urged the public to receive its information from official reliable sources.
